Job Summary
Under administrative direction, is responsible for performing professional administrative and supervisory work in the management, operation, and maintenance of a General Aviation Reliever Airport. Working conditions are primarily in an office environment. Exercises direct supervision over assigned staff.

Essential Job Functions
- Assists in the negotiation and administration of contracts, leases, and other agreements for the use of airport land and buildings.
- Coordinates the work of Federal, City, and other agencies involved in airport operations.
- Directs and supervises the work of Airport maintenance and clerical personnel.
- Develops the annual operating budget and monitors expenditures.
- Inspects runways, taxiways, aprons, and Airport perimeter for safety and security purposes.
- Makes decisions on runway and taxiway openings and closings.
- Supervises and evaluates the work of assigned staff.
- Responds to after hours Airport emergencies.
- Acts as on site commander after Airport accidents and incidents.
- Participates in the development of Airport expansion and construction planning.
- Attends meetings with business owners and citizens to provide information and solve problems.
- Develops reports and presentations for management and officials.
- Performs related duties and fulfills responsibilities as required.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university.
- Four (4) years of experience in Airport management.
- Must be accredited by the American Association of Airport Executives as an Accredited Airport Executive or obtain such accreditation within one (1) year of employment.
- Valid Class "C" Texas Driver's License.
- Must pass a Transportation Security Administration (TSA) Security Threat Assessment and a Criminal History Records check upon employment.
- Must maintain federally mandated security clearance required to work at an airport at all times.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
- Knowledge of Federal, State, and local regulations pertinent to Airport Management.
- Knowledge of Airport maintenance requirements and of necessary supplies, materials, and equipment.
- Knowledge of principles and methods of Airport Management.
- Knowledge of budget preparation and monitoring techniques and procedures.
- Knowledge of FAA policies and regulations pertaining to the operation of airports and their security and access.
- Knowledge of Airport construction and maintenance techniques and procedures.
- Knowledge of Airport emergency procedures and practices.
- Ability to operate a computer keyboard and other basic office equipment.
- Ability to analyze and effectively report upon operating conditions and problems and to recommend or install appropriate solutions.
- Ability to plan, assign, and direct the work of subordinates.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other City departments and the general public.
- Ability to present facts clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to organize, direct, and implement plans and programs.
- Ability to supervise, train, and evaluate assigned staff.
